    Hi Gang!

I have a confession. I am opinionated. I don't feel too bad about this. I just have opinions about certain things and when questioned about them I will back them up with as much fact, research and logic as I can.

However, some people seem to think that having a strong opinion (or ANY opinion for that matter) is no good. Perhaps it falls into the "not politically correct" disaster camp.

In any case, I am looking for a witty retort to those people who say "Well gee...why don't you tell us what you REALLY feel!"

Oooh...I just hate it when people say that! Like having an opinion on somthing is wrong? Sure, if someone is giving an opinion when it is not asked for that is one thing, but when during a conversation someone states a well thought out and logical opinion and some dunderhead spouts off that line...my temper tends to get the best of me.

So, my enlightened bretheren, help me come up with a good response!

    Thanks!!!!

Oh, I'm sorry. And your crybaby, whiny-assed opinion would be...?

    OR

Hey, ambivalence can ruin your life.

If you hear that a lot Scott, it may be that your friends are not that original or that you too often state your opinions too strongly.

I’m curious as to why you have such an intense dislike to a pretty much meaningless comment, that in most of my experience is usually meant in a humorous context. You are quite likely to see that phrase in a post made right after someone passionately states a view on a movie.

I’ve never thought that there was any malice—especially when such a comment was directed at me.

For sure, I’d not lose my temper over such a triviality.

Here's one for you that you can use:

"Well, I just got a call from your village, and they want their idiot back."

I saw the the thread and Alex beat me to the punch.

    Scott, you could always try:

"Oh yeah? Well I had sex with your wife!"

Just make sure that his wife isn't in a coma.

I think most of these are simply too wordy, and will make you look worse, rather than being a good 'comeback'

Haha...some really good ones so far!

Lew: I think the reason it ticks me off so much is that when someone is discussing something and puts some real thought into their argument, sites evidence etc. and shows that they seriously care about the topic, be it Star Wars to the benefits of eating fruit or whatever, to have another person sneeringly, rudely brush off whatever you may have said as irrelevant by using the afore mentioned statement, then it ticks me off.

I guess I just miss the fine art of conversation which has been replaced by sarcasm and put-downs. Hmmm...odd that it just so happens that is what I am looking for. [IMG]
