I'm sick and tired of messing with my old Yamaha's and feel it's time to get something new. Don't want to invest too much money in a turntable, but was curious what you could recommend. I believe there are turntables out there now that have outputs so you can burn them onto a CD? Is this true? For now, would like to try and stay under 200 dollars for the turntable and then I'll find a cartridge later. What are your picks? Thanks in advance.

This should probably be in A/V sources.

    Under $200 new I'd suggest
    Music Hall MMF-1
    Technics SL-BD20

in the used market I'd go for Music Hall, Project or Rega.

standard cartridge mount is good to look for. at the budget end, use Grado cartridges.

Do you need a phono stage? Parasound has a good one.

Actually there have been several threads on turntables in the last week or so (in the AV section)

If those aren't good enough, the dream machine is the ELP ($10,000 +)!!!
