Anyone here a fan of European New Wave music from the mid-to-late 80's? I'm looking for a song which I thought was titled "Persuasion" that sounded like it may have been performed by Depeche Mode, OMD, Information Society or any number of similar acts. One particular line in the song goes like this:

"I know you know me, I know you care, I know you'll set me free, --- Persuasion"

I would peg the release date of this song at around 1989. Thanks

Luisito,

I wish I could help you. I first thought of Depeche Mode, and then the Thompson Twins. But I own most of the albums of both groups, and nothing is coming to mind. I don't know of a tune that has those lyrics by either group. Maybe you'll get lucky, and someone will know this song, though.

Edit: Any chance this tune could be by The Human League, Orchestral Manoeuvres, or A-ha?

I put thoose lyics into Shazam and it couldn't figure it out.

hmm.

A google search brings up one hit, this very topic.

That doesn't ring a bell, but it sounds like it could be The Human League or Talk Talk. Its not "Don't You Want Me," they're biggest hit is it?

Take a look at this:

A-Pop ( A Popular History Of Signs) are British, the release is 1986. It's also on their hits compilation "Taste" from 1987. Their description sounds promising:
"London based minimal synth band A Popular History of Signs..."

But I can't find lyrics or a sound sample so far...at least not legitimately. It is around.
