Ok, after doing some searching, I've narrowed down my choices to two receivers: the HK 125 for $299, or the HK320 for $399. I'm on a tight budget so the $400 for the 320 is absolutely the most I want to spend. So basicly, I don't know if the extra power and DTS ES is worth the extra hundred dollars. I wouldn't be using the ES for now, but the upgradability would be nice. I know there are other differences, but these two are the only ones I am concerned with. So any persuasive words would be great.

Oh, and if you know of any places that beat these already great prices, by all means, let me know.

    thanks,
    josh

Well, only you can decide, of course, but I know exactly why you're asking- I was in the same spot not so long ago. Here's what I think. If you really would like to upgrade in the future (use your receiver as a pre amp and utilize the pre-ins and outs of the receiver), then get the 320...but only do this if you're going to upgrade in this way. If you think you might go the seperates way in the future for pure music and keep the 125 just for HT then don't bother with the 320. Now, this is what I did: I chose the 225 for the reason just stated above and because the 320 was a lot more than 399.99 at the time. the 225 is 359.99 -I think- (jandr.com is authorized and best price I've found. Call them if you see it for less and they should match it). The 10 watt difference between the 125 and the 225 (or 320) is what did it for me. I wanted just a bit more punch than the 125 had to offer; however, I think with HK true power ratings (or even conservative ratings according to others on this forum), the 125 would probably be just fine. You might want to try haramaudio.com and check out any specials that may be available. I believe that HK is coming out with the 325 soon, and if that's the case- you may want to wait for the price to drop a bit more on the 320. Good luck with your decision. Either way, I think you'll be very pleased with your HK receiver.

P.S. Don't forget to factor in speaker wire cost, new speakers cost, etc..

The extra power and the DTS capability would be worth $100, in my opinion.
