Help Me Choose A Sony ES DVD Player (1 Viewer)

I am looking at two models from the Sony ES lineup and the are: DVP-NC555ES and DVP-NS999ES (Silver Color). I could get the DVP-NC555ES for $550 and I could get the DVP-NS999ES for $650. Now time for the question: Do you think that the DVP-NS999ES is worth $100 more than the DVP-NC555ES and why?

If audio is gonna be a big intrest get the 999ES. It should sound better. There are many after-market mod's to make it sound even better. It's heavier built because it was made to be a top-of-the-line model. If you're casual about audio but want the 5-disc convience of the 555, pick it up, me thinks.

I agree with what Rachael says, but is there a reason why you are limiting to Sony? Sony players have not been among the top ratings in the Secrets comparisons.

You posted a review yourself on the NC-555ES here on HTF then you ended up returning it and getting a Denon 2200.
