hey guys, i just got my new sony 32" flatscreen saturday (kv-32fs13).

it has a line at the upmost top of the screen. sometimes it seems white, sometimes red>to green>to blue, and sometimes not there at all.

I don't have a center so its not magnetic interference. i think i remember reading about this b/f but can't recall.

will it go away when i set it up with video essentials? any help is appreciated.

The simplest fix is to increase the overscan so the line disappears off the top of the screen including during dark scenes when the average TV's picture shrinks slightly.
Alternatively you may find a service menu entry to vary the duty cycle of the electron beam shutoff that is supposed to correspond with the vertical blanking interval (scan lines 484 - 525). Such adjustment may be named "electronic matting" and it can also be used to hide ragged edges on video frames that sometimes occur.
