I once saw about 5 minutes of what looked to be a good war movie. It was in color, probably from the same period as Guns of Navarone, and seemed to involve the British in Africa during the second world war. All I remember is that a team of British/American soldiers with some local soldiers were in an oasis, which was boobytrapped, and one of their people stepped on a landmine and had to have it dug out from under them. I recall it starred Gregory Peck, David Niven, or someone similar. And no, it was not Guns of Navarone. I'd love to see the whole thing.

Are you sure this wasn't "Tobruk?" In any event, I don't think David Niven and Gregory Peck starred in any war movies together other than "Guns of Navarone."
