Dear Guys,

I'm trying to recall the title of a late seventies mini tv movie. I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this question on, but it was played on television. and on several stations and was definitely political. It was set in a grade school room (cheap budget) It started off with a bell ringing, and a young pretty teacher is replacing an elderly one, who s crying about who will take care of the children. The new instructor smiles prettily and escorts the elderly woman out and says something like that's being taken care of.

As the new teacher gets to know her students, it becomes obvious to the viewer that she's part of some system to indoctrinate them. The students are cold to her at first, but they begin to warm to her as she tells them things they want to hear. By the end of the film, it's obvious she has won them over, and the film ends ominously.

This film was about twenty minutes, not too long, but I found myself thinking about it lately. For some reason, I was thinking that it might be by Sinclair Lewis, but I don't know. The film is overtly political, working about the state taking control of the educational system, but I don't remember much more about it. Does anyone remember the name of this mini-film, or what book it might be based on.

Any help would be appreciated. Not trying to be political here, just trying to id the film or writer.
