For the last two weeks, both myself and my husband have been possessed by the media devil. It has caused both of us to spend ungodly amounts of money on dvds, cds and books. Please help. I can't afford to have this go on much longer.

I just realized that my semi-annual insurance payment, rent, car payment, and credit card bills are all due at the same time this month.

That's one way to reduce the number of DVDs you buy.

Sorry, there is no way to regain your previous life once you have been possessed. The best thing to do is to resign yourself so you can enjoy and revel in these dark arts. All hail the unholy dark lord of books, CDs, and DVDs!

The only way to truly exorcize yourself of these demons is to send me your entire DVD collection... and your TV... and couch... and I could use a new lawnmower.

I think we all have that demon in us. In the past 2 days I bought 6 new DVDs. To be honest, I don't want it to be taken from me because the thrill of owning a new DVD that you've been wanting to own is awesome. It's a rush that always gets better, espcially when you find the DVD cheap, or you find a rare/hard to find DVD.

Sell your HT and buy a Beta VCR and and 8-track player. I guarantee you won't buy nearly as much media (except maybe when you are at a flea market.)

Dave, if I did that I wouldn't need to have an exorcism, as my husband would kill me.

I think I have to follow Julie's advice and just accept the fact that I will never be the same. Although I might have to take a part time job to expense my habit.
