I'm not surprised Keith is gone -- The 2 women make for a much more interesting finale. But I agree that the winner will end up having an apprenticeship with Chef Ramsay like last season.

And this excerpt from Fox.com indicates what Keith's exact words were:

Keith succinctly replies that he thinks Chef Ramsay has a… well… let’s just say affinity for Virginia. Although Keith’s actual words were much more forceful. Much more… hard on Chef Ramsay.

I loved the whole "why do you have to be so rude?" exchange!

Had it been me in the kitchen, the only thing I would say to him during one of his tirades is:

"Dude...that's a good way to get stabbed!";)

I never saw the first season but always wanted to. I have tuned in each week this season and have loved it. Very entertaining stuff.

I also think the show is heavily edited, but I do think Virginia is not a good chef at all. Keith and Heather were the best of the whole group and Virginia is just there to make it interesting.

I can't stand Virginia though...please stop fucking CRYING every 2 damn mins. I agree with Keith and think that Ramsey does have a hard on for her, he has treated her differently than the other contestants when they are out of the kitchen with him...but then again that could just be the editing.

Keith was probably the best chef, but he way too immature to run a Las Vegas Casino restaurant...none of them are probably ready for that.

In the first season, did the winner have a choice of the restaurant or going with Ramsey, or where they forced to go with Ramsey?? I have read that they had a choice, but I am not sure.

Is season 1 on DVD? I would love to see it?

I read that they show was renewed for a 3rd season, so I can't wait for more fun.

Love this show it's a lot fo fun! But I actually enjoy the Gordon Ramsay shows from the BBC a lot more. It is very interesting to see him working instead of screaming and cursing.

The first season winner had a choice. In fact, the prize was only his own restaurant until he actually won, at which point Chef Ramsey brought up the apprenticeship option out of the blue.

I guess the outcome was no suprise.

Boy, did Virginia pick a bad team or what!
I love the editing that showed Keith always eating. What a slob.

I am glad for Heather, but it probably wasn't very professional to cry in front of your new staff. :)

3 months later, dang! I'm surprised nothing leaked out... But I bet some las Vegians already new. :) I'm tempted to go.

Was it just me or did one of Heather's staff members look a lot like Molly, the firs tchef to get the axe?

I like Virginia for her artistic merit, and she seemed like she tried hard.

What abot Kieth, Tom, whatshisname trying to blackmail Virginia?

"I picked the weaker chefs." lol.

One of the greatest moments in reality-TV history.

"I picked you guys because everyone thinks you're weak and I wanted to see what I could do with you."

"You think I'm weak?"

"No, I picked you because I think you can help handle those two."

Absolutely priceless!

She actually said that she picked those who were considered to be weaker—but I really think that she hated Sarah way too much to pick her. Of course she has only herself to blame for the team she picked.

It was interesting to watch the selection process. Both Virginia and Heather made choices from their hearts, not from professionalism. Heather, however only made one minor mistake, picking her friend first. Virginia made two disastrous choices.

A big contrast between Tom and his whinging about a minor cut and Heather staying the course after suffering a major burn.

Yea, not a very motivational speech.

But it was pretty tacky for the goobers to blackmail her. Sheesh, I would have thought that was against the contract the returning contestants had to sign to be on the last episode. They could easily sabotage their leader (which they did). This doesn't seem that fair to me.

Fairly entertaining finale.

Early on, I was leaning towards Virginia because of her advanced "palette" and her refurb. Maybe it was editing. She was ok in the kitchen and her refurb was great (IMHO).

Heather had full control of the kitchen and apparently had the edge in customer comments. Her refurb wasn't anything to write home about. I agreed that her design was a bit confused and the big movies of her was a bit odd.

Overall, there wasn't one contestant I was rooting for, nor did I think either of the two was good enough overall to be an exec chef at a resturant. In Virginia's case, she's too wishy washy and didn't handle kitchen pressure too well. Heather is too militant and is lacking a bit in the creative area. Very yin-yang in styles/talents as Ramsay pointed out.

Although I was rooting for Heather, I was cringing at the Red Rock introduction as she was surreounded by a staff who probably wanted to cook her. She probably faces an unphill battle being annointed the Chosen One and will have to work hard to not end up in a real world Virginia team situation.

I found it also funny how contestants clean up months later when the make over people have had a chance to do their magic. I remember seeing the first finale of Survivor years ago and being shocked how good some of the poeple looked when gathered months later for the live finale. They did have the jungle look when being filmed, but many looked much better than their entry submission and opening shots.

Happy for Heather. She cries way too much but in the end, she was talented and had leadership skills.

I wonder how much an executive chef gets paid. How much is she going to get paid?

Was wondering about that also. What about if she stinks it up there? Is there a minimum time she's the exec chef then Red Rock can go to "at will"? I think a year commitment is reasonable and if she does well, she stays. If not, the boot.

The producers clearly selected the six returnees for their entertainment/ dramatic value, not for their skills. Would any of them really have been a "good" choice?

Virginia's design was so much better than Heather's it was ridiculous. Heather's setup looked like a cheap wedding in a church basement with all that white. And the giant video screens of herself were grotesque at best.

I enjoyed the ending, but it was obvious Heather was going to win...if Virginia had won, then I would have believed that Ramsay did have a hard on for her.

The FAQ on the official site claims that the winner actually does not "get" or run the restaurant, but is given the title of "Executive chef". They are then put into a job that best suits them in the kitchen. The only real perk is them receiving a cut of the restaurant's profits.

If that's true then it's pretty messed up because that's what they keep saying throughout the whole show: "You'll get to run your own restaurant".
