SOUTH PACIFIC was filmed at 24fps. That was the first Todd-AO film to be filmed at the standard rate. That allowed for reduction prints to be produced for the non 70mm theatres and the film did not have to be shot twice. With SOUTH PACIFIC the speed change was not the only change.
