Anybody know of an inexpensive heat resistent fabric I can use as a tarp. Something that will not scratch paint and can withstand the heat from say a car engine? Doesn't need to be big, just perhaps like 2' x 3' in size.

Any kind of heat resistent rubber material?

It's application would be to keep rain out of the engine bay on my MR2 Spyder because I removed the drip pan in the back and replaced it with a SS mesh that is nicer looking. Spyder is garage kept but is taken out in the nicer days but not always parked in a garage.

What about having a swath of Nomex sewn or velcroed into a conventional car cover in the required location?
