He Knows You're Alone comes out today.

It the movie from 1980 where the weirdo killer guy stalks brides to be.

Pretty much a Halloween rip (even down to same shots and sound alike music). But, this movie did creep me out younger and I consider it one of the better early 80's slashers. Though I havent seen it in years so I hope it still holds at least on an average level for me.

Two things the movie is most known for. Tom Hanks first role. The opening being ripped off by Scream 2.

Anyways, this movie seems to be going under the radar and I have heard nothing. Many horror fans dont even know it's coming out yet as it's missing from many Oct 5th release lists even though it does get released today. Maybe Tom Hanks has something to do with this. lol.

It's definately getting severly overshadowed by F13 and Return of the Living Dead 2 in the horror field. Understandable I suppose, but I have no idea why it's missing from so many release lists? They should have waited to release it for another week or two.

I have seen no reviews or anything. These questions are if I can find someone who has it.

Is the transfer/audio good?

How's the commentary? Worth listening to?

If you are someone who liked this movie previously. Does it still hold up for you on an average or above level?

Thank You.

Ryan, I posted awhile back how excited I was that this flick was coming out on DVD. There was no response so I guess it's just you an me on this movie. I will pick it up eventually, but it probably will have to be done via the net. I'll post back if I find it at a b&m store.

I've been looking for He Knows You're Alone too, along with It's Alive. None of the stores in my town (Hastings, fye, Wal*Mart SuperCenter, Target) received any copies of these two films. I guess I'll have to order on-line from DVD Empire or Amazon.com.

I rented this DVD from Netflix. I have not seen the movie again all the way through yet but my first impressions on the picture quality are that it's average for a film of this era, probably equivalent to a good LaserDisc transfer. A guilty pleasure, but I had forgotten how L-A-M-E the ending was. I will pick it up when it drops below $10. I have not listened to the commentary yet. The girls in the movie were cute just like I remembered them.

Is He Knows You're Alone getting re-released on DVD this year to mark it's 30th anniversary? Why I ask, is because while you can still buy it on Amazon Canada, US, UK and PlayUSA it says on Amazon US that the film has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
