Hi guys,
I have a yamaha rx-v461, a hitachi 42" plasma, and Verizon Fios. My cable box is connected to the yamaha via optical cables. For some reason, only on HD channels, and ONLY SOMETIMES, do I get a horrible crackling sound through all of my speakers. I've tried these things:
-switching the fiber optic cable
-exchanging my yamaha box
-and it even did it when i had comcast so im ruling out the cable box
-ran NEW cable coax to the box
Its extremely frustrating and I dont know what to do next. Ive checked all of the speaker wires and they are fine. The fact that it does it sporatically makes it even more frustrating as I cant always trouble shoot. One thing I did notice, is that if a program is making the noise it will not stop until another program comes on. Also, if I DVR a show the DVR will record the crackling sound as well. The crackle WILL NOT come through the tv, only the yamaha. Very Very weird. Thanks for any help whatsoever as its been driving me nuts.
