Hi,
To receive HDTV broadcasts from DirecTv, does one need a HDTV DSS receiver/tuner, or can I just add the 18x24 oval dish to my current receiver? Thanks for any input!

Danton,
You will have to upgrade to an HD-capable DirecTV reciever as well as the oval dish or a second 18" round dish. You could use just one round dish aimed at the 119 satellite, but then you'd lose all your current non-hd channels.
