I get so much different info from sales people it's frustrating. I would like to purchase a wide screen TV approx 50-55inches. I have a Denon 4800 receiver, Toshiba 9100 progressive scan DVD. I would like to spend about $3000-$4,000 on the TV. I do not have satelite and there are only 2 stations broadcasting HDTV so it is not mandatory I have a built in HD decoder. I have looked at the pioneer elite and liked it but I don't want to spend $7000. What is the best for the money? Thanks Mike.

Take a look at the mitsubishi, toshiba, panasonics, sony or even samsung sets. They all have wide screen sizes ranging from 42 to 73 inch priced from about 1699 to around 4500...You can't go wrong with any of them, just check out all the features and narrow it down to what best suits you needs...Going with a seperate set top box is a better way to go anyway than with a set with a build in decoder...
