Hdmi (1 Viewer)

First of all, let me apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum for this post, I'm new.

I'm thinking about getting a AV Receiver (leaning towards the Onkyo SR603) and eventually would like to get a plasma TV.

When I decide to get the plasma, what if it has HDMI and I upgrade to a HDMI Source (DirectTV HD)? Most mid-range AV Receivers dont have HDMI so would I bypass the AV receiver for the HDMI?

Bypass the A/V receiver with the video connection. Your audio should still run through it if you want DD/DTS.
