Hi all,
Its looking like I may need to shop for a new HDMI switcher. I'm not actually using it for home theater but my needs more closely align with the home theater world.
I don't know what the technical term is but the switcher I have one changes the picture instantly. Every other switcher I own takes 5 to 7 seconds. I need a new one that does that, is 4k, has 4 ports, and is from a brand that will last for a good while.
My actual use-case, if it matters - is switching between 4 different computers. I have a separate USB KVM for the keyboard & mouse, and daisy-chain other switchers into 2 of the ports. The other ports have PCs plugged directly into them. I do it this way because actual KVMs switch too slowly and I frequently need to direct the peripherals to a different system than the monitor.
My current switcher is this OREI multi-viewer that worked great but appears to have crapped out on me in under 2 years(two ports on it will not pass video and OREI support is telling me its failed). I don't actually need the multi-viewer feature per-se, it just happens the multi-viewer could do instant-speed switching.
