I'm getting my mom and stepfather a LG BD270 blu-ray player this Christmas (they live out in the country, they wouldn't use the Profile 2.0). They have a Sony 1080i rear projection big-screen TV, and the DVD player they are using is ancient, and on it's last leg (not even progressive scan). The main issue is their TV has only one HDMI input, and they are using the HDMI input for their Dish Network DVR. I need to get them a HDMI switch as well, and know little about them, but was looking at a couple of these. Any advice, info on how these work? I certainly don't want them losing video quality, and was hoping one of these inexpensive options would work well. Thanks in advance for any input.

There sure is a discrepancy in price on some, you can pay alot for them as well, and just wondered if there was really any reason to. Thanks again.

Jeremy,

I've been using one from Monoprice similar to the one you linked, except with 4 inputs. I've had it for about 5 months now. I notice no loss of picture quality as compared to before I incorporated the switch into my set-up. I don't know about the ones Amazon sells, but the Monoprice one feels nice and solid and doesn't get pulled around by the weight of the attached cables.
