    I am one that can't see paying $230 for a 2x1 DVI switch. I found this low cost switch from Centronics as a possible alternative;

    which is the importer/distributor. It's not listed on their site yet.
    I have photos of the switch, but since this site doesn't have the option of hosting photos I can't show them.

    The model is HDAS-100G
    the size is; 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 1 3/8"
    grey plastic case
    inputs on each side
    outputs on rear
    DVI & HDMI connections and audio RCA connectors
    mechanical switching

    The good:
    both DVI & HDMI inputs/outputs
    everything on a single circuit board

    The bad:
    mechinical switching (contacts)
    no remote control
    connectors on 3 sides
    no mounting provision (but can be done)
    large footprint

    What I don't know yet is if this is just a 2x1 or a 4x2 switch with separate paths for the DVI and HDMI inputs & output.
