Hello all,
I can't get my PS3 audio to work when using an HDMI connection in my system. I'm currently using an optical connection and it is working fine, but I'm looking for the 1 cable solution and higher quality audio that HDMI promises. Here's my setup:
PS3 connected by HDMI to a Sony STR-DA5200ES, then HDMI / DVI (combo. cable) connected to a Sony KF-42WE620 (which has a DVI input, not an HDMI).
I believe the problem is at the DVI input (I have heard that HDMI needs a 2 way handshake in order to complete the audio circuit?). If that's the case, is there a recommendation on a converter of some sort that could allow me to use an-all-HDMI solution?
Thanks for the help in advance.
