Whats the difference? Also, which will win? There are more titles in the HDCD format. I am really enjoying the 5.1 remasters on DVD of classic albums. I recommend Steely Dan's "Gaucho" disc as a starter.

do a search on this forum for both HDCD and SACD and you'll get many responses.
HDCD (High Definition Compatible Digital) is a kind of 'hybrid' CD that, when played on a CD player with Burr-Brown DACs, will sample at a higher rate and 20 bits (opposed to redbook CDs' 16 bit). all HDCDs will play on standard CD players. Link Removed
SACD is a new format put out by Sony and Philips. it can include up to 5.1 discrete channels of sound and is 24bit/192kHz. this will explain it better than i can. Link Removed.
