Hey Gang,

I have a 2000 Model Sony Wega 32" XBR TV. I'm happy with the whole system that I have in place, but am constantly looking for upgrades.

I know that the Wega is HD ready, but I'm not sure I understand. Does this mean that with a decoder, I can get Hi-definition broadcasts with it? If so, how do I incorporate a Hi-Def piece of equipment into my setup?

Equipment in Place:

Yamaha Receiver RX-595a

Sony Wega TV 32"XBR

Sony DVD DVP-S330

BA Head VR-12

BA Mains VR-940

Infinity Surrounds RS1

BA Sub PV-600

I really enjoy the high quality of DVD, but after seeing HD in Japan when I was there, I know there is better.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kraig

I believe HD-ready means that the TV is capable of displaying HD signals from outside sources, but is not capable of receiving the signals with its own tuner. You need a set-top box decoder for this.
