On my mits 55inch tv if you walk up to it, on any programming and look down at an angle about within 2 feet... the middle of the screen up to the top kind of has a rainbow effect?! but you don't see it anywhere else other than the center, and it's not noticible (that I know of) when sitting down.

I run my hd box with dvi, and have calibrated with digital vid ess.

It's prolly not a big deal at all, but I just noticed it after 3 months and it's wierd.

    anyone? anyone?

You are seeing the optical behavior of some of the screen elements, which are actually flat panel lenses.

One of the purposes of these lenses is to aim most of the light towards normal sitting positions with a minimum of picture distortion and with as little as possible shadowing or hotspotting.

All lenses act to some extent like prisms, breaking up white light into colors of the rainbow. This effect is more pronounced when light is bent sharply by a lens.
