I remember reading the FCC required manufacturers to include a IEEE-1394 connectivity onto this device????


I've yet to view one thta has this connection.

It would be great for all those Mitsubishi HDTV owners ............

The FCC requires working firewire for cable HD but has no jurisdiction over HD DVD players. I don't expect any HD DVD players to have firewire for video.

I agree. I think the writing is on the wall for the slow demise of FireWire for consumer applications like this. HDMI is where it's at. Fortunately or not.
