I have purchased the following components for my newly finished basement and theater room and cannot seem to get them all to work in unison.
Samsung 58 inch Plasma TV
Yamaha RX-V463 AV Receiver
Samsung BD-P1500 Blue Ray Player
DirecTV HD Receiver.

When the room was finished I had a HDMI Cable installed into the wall. How do I connect all thhe cmponents to work together and all on the single HDMI Cable? Please Help!

Welcome to the forum Jannsen.

This setup is pretty easy to connect. If you have one one HDMI cable in your wall, here is my suggestion:

1.Co-locate your AVR, Blu-ray player and DirecTV receiver
2.Connect the Samsung player to one of the HDMI input
3.If your DirecTV receiver has an HDMI output (I was not sure of the model number) , connect it to the other Yamaha HDMI input . If not, connect the DVR to the AVR by component cables for the video and optical for the audio.
4.Now use the in-wall HDMI cable to connect the AVR HDMI output to the HDMI input of the display.

If he doesn't have component cables going up to the tv, then hooking his directv via component cables isn't going to work. Your receiver doesn't "upconvert" all the signals to hdmi. You'll need to hook everything up to your receiver via hdmi if this is the case.
