Have you used Car.com or InvoiceDealers.com to get vehicle quotes?

Anyone used Car.com, InvoiceDealers.com, or a similar service to get quotes from a local dealer on a new vehicle?

Just curious how good the quotes were versus haggling yourself.

I've used Cars.com and Carsdirect.com to get some quotes. Some car dealerships still won't give you a price quote through email even though they're supposed to. You have to call them. The quotes I've received are usually decent but you can definitely do better by calling the dealership or going there in person. Just make sure to know exactly what you want with what options before calling.

I bought my first car through carsdirect last year and it went painlessly. I didn't get an extreme deal, but I was well within the recommended percentage over invoice.

I tried to use cars direct to buy my truck. Didnt really work out but I was able to use the quote I got as leverage at a local dealer. Its probably worth it just for that I would think.
