I'm thinking of browsing some of the local ones to see what they have.
A few years ago a friend of mine found a low end pioneer player and 5 discs (including Olivia in Concert) for something like $100. The player still works great today.

I've bought a few from pawn shops. They are far and few between and be prepared to get a lot of blank stares when you mention laserdisc. Also when you're in a store, check out the LP's as well, sometimes they get thrown in with them.

Check the thrift stores too (like Goodwill and Salvation Army)- I've found the occasional LD thrown in with the LPs, and gotten them for the same price as LPs too! (40 cents for Charlotte's Web, $1 for a sealed Magnetic Video edition of Black Stallion to name a couple)
