I've always heard about them, read about them, and saw them on TV and in movies, but never saw one in real life. So have any of you seen one or are they a thing of the past?

I think they are a thing of the past, but my parents have told me about one that used to hang out on the streets of Cleveland when they were growing up.

I remember seeing them as a young child. My dad would always give me a coin to give to the monkey. I don't remember where I saw them, though. Possibly at Disneyland? Or on trips to San Francisco.

Theres one at the NY state fair ever year. If you don't give the moneky some change he'll reach in your pocket and take your wallet. The crowd thinks it's hilarious, except for the person missing the wallet.

I saw one in Vegas on the Strip a year ago. The monkey wore a top hat and if you went up and gave him a dollar, he'd tip his hat to you.

They're rare over here in the UK. They tend to be seen round tourist haunts. I doubt you'd see one with a monkey in the UK - Brit law has got pretty strict in recent years about the use of animals for entertainment.

I saw Lorena Bobbit on TV once, does that count? [IMG]

(Actually, it probably doesn't. She was more a slicer and thrower than a grinder...)
