Have a question about DVD burning speed quality? 1X vs. 2x. Nero. (1 Viewer)

I have a question. I am trying to burn a DVD for a project. Anyways, I have 2 options of burning. 1X and 2X speed from my recorder. I am going to use Nero Express.

What I need to know is if I use the 2X burn speed, will that degrade the quality?

The burn quality, like with CDRs, is the same, just faster. The weakness would be the quality of the media

I am going to use the Fugi brand DVD-R. I heard the quality is pretty good. So, hopefully everything works out.

I know all about buying cheap media thinking your getting a good deal. I bought a 10 pack of cheapies (liquid crystal they were called for $14.99) to record some tv shows off tv once. Every single one failed. I wont by making that mistake twice.
