I will have this amp with 1 20-39 cs, but I am also planning to occasionally hook up this amp to my Paradigm minimonitor fronts.

I've wondered what separate amplification sounds like, and how this amp (in sound quality, etc) compares to other power amps (eg. B&K or Parasound).

I guess I'd just patch my cd player directly to the amp.

Thanks

Everett,

First, welcome to the Forum!

As I recall, this question was asked this a few months ago, and someone responded an said there were very unhappy with the Samson as a main-channel amp. The complaint was that it sounded “grainy,” if I remember.

Samson is a low-end pro-audio brand. While such amps will work fine with subs (where things like “graininess” are not an issue), for your mains you will most likely get better results with a reputable hi-fi amplifier.

Everett, Fred over @ AVSforum has a post going now about his experience in using a Samson 700 amp (from his SVS) on the front channels of his Marantz receiver.
