    Hello to all,

I am interrested in getting this player. I do not need SACD or DVD Audio,Is this a Good player for just watching movies?

My local C.C. has one for $199.99 open box

Or is the Pioneer 563 or Samsung 931 better?

I will be using it on a Panasonic 47WX53 HDTV

    Thanks Beau

Beau, I have the H/K DVD 25 which I just got to replace my broken Panny. The DVD 25 and DVD 101 are essentially the same machines, and they're both good players....But for some reason the DVD 25 got more reviews on audioreview.com than the 101 .

I honestly don't see any picture improvment between the DVD 25 and my old Panny. But it does run quieter, faster and we do seem to be getting better sound out of the center channel though I couldn't for the life of me tell you why.

Don't know how it compares to the other two you listed, but after having 2 Pannys die on me each lasting less than a year, I just decided to go for the DVD 25 so I at least could have a player that matches the rest of my H/K setup (325 and CDR 26).

    Thanks, Carl

I also have a H/K rec. The 520 and I really love it.

C.C. also had a new 5 disc player, but I did not recognize the model #. It must be brand new.
