Would you prefer the Harman Kardon AVR 8000 or the Parasound HCA-2205AT + Rotel RSP-1066 combo?
Would definetly prefer the Parasound + Rotel combo. Processing wise the 8000 and 1066 are at par. The 2205 however is twice as powerful as the 8000's amp in terms of real world power (no fudging or overstating here).
I have to agree with Yogi on this one. I really don't think that this is a fair fight for the H/K amp wise. The 2205 is a beast and the rotel is a good mate for it. I may be biased though. I own the 1066 and 3 Parasound amps.
No comparison. Rotel/Parasound combo.
If you look at the price difference, and how loud you are actually going to play your system, I might recommend saving $1000 or so and getting the HK.
It has more than enough power for most medium sized rooms.
Of course if $ is no object then get the Rotel/Parasound combo!
Shouldn't the real comparison be:
Would you prefer the Harman Kardon AVR 8000 plus 1000.00 cash or the Parasound HCA-2205AT + Rotel RSP-1066 combo?
Or are you finding the Parasound/Rotel at a serious discount ? If you are, please share the details !!!!
