I have 2 identical 60GB harddrives. I'd like to use one as a backup either running parallel with the other one or saving a copy every month. I am running XP and my motherboard does not have raid capabilities. What are my options?

You could connect the 2nd drive as a slave and then use Ghost or simply copy everything from one drive to the other.

Better yet, get a caddy that the 2nd drive can be mounted in, and pulled out when not in use. Then your backup drive is safe if something happens to the computer, such as a power surge or a virus.

A third option (which I think is available in XP) is to mirror the two drives. This will protect you from a physical drive failure but not accidental deletion or corruption from a virus or whatever.
