I trust you're all going to have gorgonzola sandwiches and Guiness to mark the event?
I have no idea what you're talking about... but, any excuse to drink Guinness is okay with me!
It's a Ulysses thing...James Joyce. Isn't today the hundredth anniversary marking the day? Take care, Chuck (happy he listens to NPR from time to time)
What an overrated book is Ulysses...heck he even plagerized the last few paragraphs from a Firesign Theater album.
AAAHHH You must have it on Edison Wax cylinder. I hear MMF is going to be releasing a whole line, cause Analog is always better....Damn vinyl Snobs; wax is the way to go!
Ulysses for Dummies
Can't get away from it here. Every newspaper, radio show and tv channel is wall to wall Joyce. And less than 1% of the population has even read it
"Oh Show me the Way to the next Whiskey Bar", and we'll rejoice. Ooops, wrong author :b
I didn't say I liked the book. I read it first when I was 13 (I was a strange adolescent) and thought I sort of liked it. I then reread it years later and I think it's an interesting experiment but not one to be repeated. In answer to queries, yesterday was the 100th anniversary of the date the book is set in (all the 'action' in the book is set over one day).
I can be counted as one who does like the book--Finnegan’s Wake is the one I’d call an interesting experiment. Or would if I’d ever managed to get much beyond 100 pages.
My first thought was you are a little late to run 12K. Bloomsday Mike
