I have no problem with Hannibal either. Just looking at the list, though, you'd think more "shocking" characters such as Leatherface or Jack the Ripper...or even Mickey and Mallory Knox might've unseated him. Glad they didn't. The list itself is outstanding.

Acutally, the new screenshot looks better to my eyes.

The MPI DVD seems to crop too much from the sides and has a darker contrast. The Miramax DVD has better detail and looks a lot smoother.

Even though Hannibal Lecter was voted top serial killer, I'm sure that the other killers were honoured to be nominated.

Glad to see that John Ryder, from one of my top 5 favorite films of all time, THE HITCHER, made the list! [IMG]
The list is fantastic overall, but their are some notable absences, as well as a few questionable ones that made the cut.

Where the hell is Freddy Krueger? He certainly has a lot more style and wit than many on that list.

Where's the grandaddy of them all, Hans Beckert (Peter Lorre) from Fritz Lang's brilliant M?

Otherwise a pretty good list. Personally would have put Bates and Buffalo Bill (for me the scarier monster in Silence) up higher.

Is true Ol' Fred Krueger should have been in the top 20, he was THE horror icon of the 80's, whappened? Maybe because he's more a horror creation like Dracula and Frankenstein than a Norman Bates nutcase. But than again Jason Vorhees is now zombiefied (whatever that means) so he shouldn't be up there either. Hmmm I dunno...
You know its questions like these that keep me up all night.[IMG]

Great list, although Dr. Lector has never really disturbed me that much I must admit.

What happened to 'Chucky'!? Granted he's only 3 feet tall, but he's just plain mean man!

Just realised there are a couple of good spoilers in the list up there, but I seemed to have got away with it.[IMG]
Heres a reprint of a spoof test I posted here last year to check if a person has the makings of a crazed serial killer, take the test and see how badly you do.[IMG]
    1. What do you do first thing in the morning?
A: Lovingly kiss your partner, than hop cheerfully out of bed and get ready for work.
B: Grumble at the thought of another load of bloodstained clothes to wash.
C: Spit at the pickled head of your mother you keep in a jar by your bed.
    2. Your boss gives you some grief at work. How do you respond?
A: Resolve to work twice as hard to make up for your failings.
B: Console yourself with the thought that it's his last day on Earth.
C: Repeatedly slam his head in the photocopier lid, keeping the copies of his screaming face for souvenirs.
    3. What's in your fridge?
A: Milk, yoghurt, fresh vegetables and a nicely chilled Sauvignon Blanc.
B: A torso wrapped up in bin liners.
C: The shrunken heads of your victims, arranged in alphabetical order, and a nicely chilled Sauvignon Blanc.
    4. What do you do for fun with your dog?
A: Take him for an energetic walk in the park.
B: Make careful notes of the people he wants to eliminate.
C: Nail his bleached skull to a branch next to his predecessors.
    5. As a child, did your parents...
A: Shower you with love and affection?
B: Lock you in a tiny cupboard with only an irate rat for company?
C: Slowly decompose in the graves you dug for them one Halloween night?
    6. Whats your favorite snack?
    A: A juicy red apple.
B: Raw meat, the bloodier the better.
C: Chilled monkey brains. Only not from a monkey...
    7. What do you think of the film 'Hannibal'?
    A: Appalling and tasteless.
    B: A good laugh.
    C: Hopelessly lightweight.
    8. What gadget do you most want for your birthday?
    A: An automatic cat-feeder.
B: Night-Vision goggles that make a high pitched 'pweeeee!' noise when switched on.
    C: A chainsaw.
    9. A census taker tries to test you. Do you...
A: Giggle and put 'Jedi' down as your religion?
B: Test which is stronger his skull or your new sledge hammer?
C: Pop down to the stores for some fava beans and a nice Chianti?
    10. Which movie do you prefer?
    A: Pokemon 2000.
    B: American Psycho.
    C: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
    SCORE..
Mostly A: Sorry you're such a wuss that Walter the nerd next door beats you up regularly.
Mostly B: You're well on your way, try to develop a gimmick, perhaps you could arrange your victims in a 'Walk like an Egyptian' pose.
Mostly C: Congratulations! Totally Psycho! Not to mention Wacko and as mad as a hatter, now all you need is a catchy nickname, for instance its better to be 'Night Slayer' than Batty Bertie or Chainsaw Sid.
