Seems rather odd that a mid-period Ridley Scott film is being released by Kino-Lorber, especially in UHD.

Makes sense for them to try UHD out with something more mainstream and popular, and this is pretty mainstream and popular by their standards.

I always thought 4K discs were required to include a digital copy. Obviously that’s not the case.

No, nothing is required to include a code. Lots of releases don't have codes. Also usually when a label like Kino, Shout or Arrow do a remaster its exclusive to that disc and won't be on digital at all.
