Id like to think that they aren't using the Echo Bridge Blu Ray and hopefully some new master or the once for the Alliance blu ray. Im still getting this set but depending on H20 I might keep my Alliance blu ray of it. Im anxiously awaiting to know more about the masters they are using so I know whether or not to keep certain blu rays. I know the Anchor Bay ones Im replacing..

I have to admit that the extras look pretty goddamned sweet. I so badly want this set - but I know, deep down in my soul, that I just cant stand buying something where 70% of everything in the set sucks. And as tot growing up loving 80's slasher flicks, that just pains me. I might see if I can rent part 6, just to see the long lost director's cut - but dropping 200 bones on this many movies I actively dislike. . . sorry man.

I hear ya, but when I pre-ordered it earlier, it was only $115. Still a lot, but a lot less than $200.

At least one omission from the press release (confirmed by Shout): Audio commentary by Tom Atkins (Halloween III) is also included.Edit: Another mistake on the press release: H6 Theatrical has also DTS MA 5.1, not DD 5.1.

These are "missing" from the set:- H4/5 "discussion panel" (18 min) featurette.- Theatrical versions of Zombie's H1&2 (available on BD at least in Canada and in France).- Audio commentary by writer Alan B. McElroy w moderator Anthony Masi for H4 (from R1 Divimax DVD).+- Carpenter's H2 tv cut is in SD only.- Ottman's original score for H20 not included (Ottman recently said in the Empire mag that he was very pleased with his work).- "Original" and advertised audio commentary with Jamie Lee Curtis and Steve Miner (for H20 "Dimension Collector's Series" DVD) is not included (new one was recorded).- Creed's "What's This Life For" music video for H20.

Yeah, I was misremembering the price - the Shout! page had it listed at 170, which while still not 200 bucks, is still way more than I'd like to pay for three movies I already have, a directors cut of a terrible movie that I'd like to see out of curiosity and a bonus disc.

Speaking of bonus discs, here's a odd thought - why has there not been a Never Sleep Again / Camp Crystal Lake Memories comprehensive documentary for Halloween? I'd be MUCH more interested in getting my hands on that, and there is probably no shortage of stories and behind the scenes dirt to dish out.

There's at least "Halloween: 25 Years Of Terror (2006)" doc, but I just realized that it's not included. :(But I guess it's about the franchise, not only about the first film.

I'm only interested in the Producer's Cut. So I guess this means I won't be buying the set since I'm not paying $120 for one movie.

Some info from FB:"Our best answer guys: We ordered masters from Miramax on 6, H20 & 8. They didn't tell us where they came from. The H20 master is not the Echo Bridge master.1, 4, 5 and the RZ films are the same transfers on previous Blus."

Why are the TV scenes from HALLOWEEN only in SD? They obviously had a 35mm anamorphic film element to transfer from in 1999, why not retransfer those scenes in HD?

Fixed that for you. Unless you really think that Shout/Anchor Bay really do want to do the worst job they can.
