I'm considering purchasing this set, but can't find any reviews. Anyone have a link? I'm really trying to find out if all the films are anamorphic.

To Nick:

Basically, it would appear this set is merely a collecting-together of the UK Anchor Bay, Sanctuary and Dimension Films releases of these discs that have already been available separately.

So, as I understand it, what you get is this:

Anamorphic versions of all the films, all in their correct ratios, all un-cut and all with an option to listen to new (where applicable) surround mixes or the original mix, be it mono or stereo or whatever.

The only exception to this is Halloween 3 which is both cropped to 1.85:1 and slightly edited, due to the wrong print being used, I believe - certainly, the BBFC don't have a problem with this film anymore. This is one of the two Sanctuary releases that have been licenced for this boxset, so Anchor Bay had no control over this one. If you can live with this disappointment, then the rest of the boxset will more than satisfy you. However, I don't know how much it would cost you to import it, so you might just be better off going for the local releases of each (isn't Halloween 3 uncut in Australia?).

Hope this helps.

Thanks Richard. Its actually a pretty good price for 8 films on Amazon UK. Unfortunately the R4 Halloween 3 disc is also cropped from its OAR and Halloween 2 is non-anamorphic. I haven't been able to find out any technical info on 4,5,6. This box is looking like a good option.

The box indeed is a GREAT option.

Getting over the disappointment of the "Halloween 3" issue with the wrong OAR, the rest make up for it.

If you can get it, I would.

I received this box set today and it is nice to have a 5.1 sound option on Halloween 2,3,and 6 which is not available on the R1 editions.
