    HALLOWEEN 25TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION - Fall 2003
It has been 25 years since Michael Myers first returned to Haddonfield. Now he returns to DVD for this special anniversary edition. Extras are still being determined, but expect a plethora of new goodies (i.e. audio commentary, etc.) for this exciting release. Expect more announcements in the coming months, and please note all features at this point are tentative and subject to change. Closed Captioned for the Hearing Impaired.

    Halloween (Movie Only Edition)
    Halloween: Limited Edition
Halloween: Special Edition (Disc 1 of LE)
Halloween: Television Edit (Disc 2 of LE)
    Halloween: 25th Anniversary Edition
That'll make it the fifth version of the DVD. [IMG]
I'm annoyed that Anchor Bay is releasing a fifth version of the film on DVD. I pray that it has NONE of the extras of the Limited Edition for those who actually have the Limited Edition have something that's actually "limited."

I have the limited edition. I think that's enough for me. I will not be purchasing the newest edition.

I wonder if the commentary will be new, or if Anchor Bay will get the old one from Criterion...

Well, I only bought the Limited Edition, so if there is an audio commentary with John Carpenter I will definitely pick this one up.

Given Anchor Bay's treatment of their big titles recently I'd expect a DTS-ES track this time round.

Dropping the pan-and-scan version and transporting all the extras onto a second disc will increase the bitrate for the feature substantially.

I have owned every single version of this Movie on DVD at one time or another. Right now, all I own is the:

    Theatrical Edition (THX)
    TV Extended Version

But, I will in fact be picking up the new one as well, since Halloween is my favourite film of all time. I wonder how many time Anchor Bay will re-release this title.

I'm all Halloweened-out, so I won't be buying any more of the original film. I have the 2-DVD LE, so that's good enough. I've never gotten into commentaries, so that's no incentive for me. I will not discourage others from purchasing though. I wonder when Anchor Bay's rights to Halloween will expire -- perhaps never?

The next Halloween disc I'll likely pick up will be Halloween Resurrection (part 8). Let's hope Buena Vista doesn't delay in releasing it like they did with H20.

But rather than mucking around with the same old releases, I wish Anchor Bay would devote more resources to titles that haven't seen the light of day on DVD yet.

All it will take for me to buy it is one or all of the following:

    1. Better/Higher bitrate transfer
    2. DTS-ES
    3. Carpenter Commentary
    4. New Extras

Anchor Bay has alot of my money already!

I own the 'Halloween LE' dvd, and have always felt that it was somehow incomplete without a commentary track from John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis.

I'll be picking this one up for that alone.

Since this is one of my favorite soundtracks, I'd love an isolated score.
