A friend of mine recently bought a set of Paradigm speakers for his HT. He got 4 Monitor 3s and the cc370... pretty nice yes?!?
Anyway, a friend of his and her husband are over for dinner the night he bought the speakers, so there were boxes everywhere and the speakers had just been put on their stands. So, the husband is asking about the speakers and finally the question of price came up. When my friend told him how much they were, the first thing out of the husband's mouth was "For that price, you should have bought Bose!". Well, my friend nearly fell on the floor laughing especially since the husband had just bought a new pair of speakers a few days before... from guys in a white van!!!

Just thought I would share this with y'all and give you a little morning giggle.

This thread reminds me of the old David Letterman saying:

"If you can't laugh at yourself - make fun of other people"

Aw, gee. Man, I'm half way tempted to suggest that you have him read up on Bose and White Van speakers here and at other forums. Sounds like kind of a snot to suggest that Bose would have been better right in front of a new purchaser of another brand. Maybe needs to be put in his place.

I guess the logical question is why would anyone want to marry someone like that? :b

You know, I like to read every thread about Bose. But I think sometimes people go way excited and reach a point where they start assaulting other people, blending their behaviour with some humour... When I had the funds and decided to upgrade from my compact low-fi system, first brand I wanted to get was Bose. I'd almost bought their Acoustimass 15. Because they are very successful in advertising, prior to the stage where they actually decide buying the gear people generally don't do any serious research, and they naturally think that Bose is a good product. Because they see Bose ads everywhere, it's not cheap so it's 'got' to be good, they hear it from salespeople, etc. This I find normal. Some people may even go ahead and practically buy the thing, that's a mistake they'll probably realise soon and pay for themselves.

My point is, please show more respect to people who you do not know and rethink before posting a question like "I guess I don't understand why your friend is friends with such a person." If that's just a joke that's fine, but if you're serious about this question I suggest you rethink about your take of the matter.
