Do you guys know if the H/K 230 can handle both 6 and 8 OHM speaks at the same time? If I'm correct the lower the Ohm # the less resistance show it shouldn't be a problem but I just wanted to make sure.

The lower the impedance, the harder it is for the receiver to drive. I wouldn't try driving two pairs of speakers off the same amp channels.

No I mean can I use a 6 ohm center and 8 ohm mains for example.

Craig I have an H/K Avr 225 driving Monitor Audio Bronze series speakers. My mains are 6ohm while my center is rated at 8ohm. My rears are also 6ohm. I too initally had worries about this, but the modest H/K powers them like a champ. I haven't noticed any overheating at all. My speakers have a high sensitivity rating though.
