As flawed as it is, I rather love this pirate adventure, released in 1976. Shaw and Bujold have good chemistry (and the latter has a brief underwater nude shot). The 2.35:1 cinematography is gorgeous, the John Addison score rollicking and memorable, the supporting cast (James Earl Jones, Peter Boyle, Beau Bridges, Angelica Huston, etc.) all fun, some of the sword play quite rousing. I don't care a whit that Maltin's guide gives it a "Bomb" rating. I think it's wonderful, and I highly recommend it. Only about eleven bucks (ten Euros) plus shipping.

Like MGM was/is doing, Universal is parceling out its library to damn near everyone now. Hey, at least we're getting the movies! For the millionth time, anyone who is a serious collector really needs to get into the all-region game.
