DAY OF THE DEAD is one of my favorite films, and I think it is the best film in Romero's brilliant trilogy, so I just felt like venting a little frustration with this post as Gorezone reported that AB has delayed the SE till August 2003. If they are taking more time to make the DVD even better, I'm all for it, but I still was looking forward to getting it earlier in the year.

Slightly disappointing to be sure, but as long as it's done right I'm happy.

Maybe they're holding out so that they can add a Dead Reckoning preview. At least that's what I hope.

I've had it listed for August 19, 2003 for months now. I believe this was the date reported in the original Fangoria upcoming release list.

Yeah, I've also had it listed as 8/19/03 for a LONG time now. And Dawn of the Dead is still set for 04/29/03 correct?

Actually, the 04/29/03 date was DAY OF THE DEAD's original date, not DAWN's. DAWN is hitting in October.

Anchor's 3 disc set of Dawn Of The Dead is the release I look most forward to in 2003. [IMG]

All of Romero's Dead films are extremely important to me as well. Right now though, it's way too early in the production process of the dvds to even be worrying about release dates, especially where Anchor Bay's concerned. You can practically count on at least one more push-back of the release date, or rather, you'll be less disappointed if you do.

Yep, this is really bad news. I was hoping to have it in May to tide me over until the release of Dawn in 2003. This sucks.

Is this a done deal? I've only heard Romero and Fox were talking.

I thought I read somewhere that it was a done deal, but I could be wrong.
BTW, look where www.deadreckoningmovie.com takes you. Interesting.

According to Anchor Bay's In the Future page (which was just updated last week), Day of the Dead is due out April 2003, not August.
Sometimes it helps to check the source. [IMG]

    According to DVDFILE :
At long last, the third in George Romero's famous zombie trilogy Day of the Dead will finally hit DVD on April 29th, courtesy of Anchor Bay Entertainment. Featuring stomach-churning gore effects by legendary effects wizard Tom Savini, this horror classic comes uncut and uncensored in a feature-packed two disc set. Specs include a brand-new THX-certified 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, remixed Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround EX and DTS 6.1 ES surround tracks, an audio commentary with Romero, 2 featurettes, still galleries, the complete screenplay, trailers, and a collectible booklet. Retail is $34.95

Quite interesting, although I couldn't find a relevant announcement at Anchor Bay's site. Seemingly the exact release day remains a mystery, but to my knowledge the rumored delay until August was never confirmed by the company. Could this mean that it's coming out in April after all?

I just want to make sure that the same behind-the-scenes footage that's on the Elite LD is on the DVD before I sell it.

I thought there was supposed to be a set by anchore bay with all three Romero films packed in a box? I think Elite looses the rights to "Night of..." after this last release from a couple months ago. I thought this set was supposed to come out Sept 2003. Was I dreaming? I'd like to hold off until a box set if it si the reality, as I still have my VHS Anchor Bay copie to hold me over.

    Isn't Night public domain?
