It currently looks like my best course of action will be to run some of the speaker wires for my surrounds down into the basement and back up into the center of the room. The surrounds would then be placed on a table behind the seating area (couch) and aimed to bounce off the side walls. The good news is that if I just drilled a hole in the floor it would be covered by the couch. The bad news is that should the room ever be rearranged theres a hole in the middle of the floor.
Anyone seen anything like a desk grommet with a brass finish that would be sturdy enough for floor mounting or should I consider a J-box and empty floor outlet? The problem being that a blank 1/2" to 3/4" hole is smaller than a 2" dia. grommet is smaller than a 4" dia. floorplate.
