Any news on WB doing a Special Edition of the Green Mile? I've been waiting on buying this DVD for a while, I was curious if I should wait a little longer or just give in.

I hope so. However, no one asked the WB execs during the last chat if one is coming in the near future.

Do a search on a thread entitled "Warner Brothers 2-disc DVD Survey + complete 3/8 Live Chat Transcript" to voice your opinions. According to the chat, the WB execs are taking our thoughts seriously. I have already requested a sorely needed Green Mile SE. It's one of my all-time favorites.

I got a feeling that if they ever made a Shawshank Redemption SE, this will show up with it.

Here is the official word from Warner Brothers taken directly from the last HTF chat about Shawshank:

WarnerBros: "SHAWSHANK SE is coming this year for its 10th birthday. We're working closely with Frank Darabont on this."

I've been hearing sometime around September. It looks like we may be waiting a while for a Green Mile SE.

Here is the official word from Warner Brothers taken directly from the last HTF chat about THE GREEN MILE:

Chris_Stephens: Thanks for the great work you do. I was wondering about re-releases of 90s films, specifically Singles, Three Kings, Green Mile, and Akira Kurosawa's Dreams?

Warner: Thank you, Chris. We haven't mentioned it anywhere else yet, so here's a scoop. We are doing a 2 Disc SE of GREEN MILE later this year. None of the other titles are being revisited right now.

Great news! I was able snag a copy of the deluxe edition of Shawshank before they got pulled. Hope the GM Special Edition has something similar.

The video and audio quality of the Green Mile still holds up for a single disc release of such a long movie. Love to see some extras on this movie.

For being his first audio commentary (and for being someone originally opposed to having one on there altogether), Darabont did a good job on the Shawshank re-release; him getting recommended several killer DVD commentraks by his filmmaker friends as "suggested listening" beforehand. Him doing another one for Green Mile is a no-brainer.

More seriously, that SE features list is a bit anemic; don't get me wrong, I'm happy for anything new Warner can give us, but that's pretty slim pickin's...
