I was very surprised that I liked School of Rock so much. I laughed more than any other movie of last year.

Tough match, I loved May until the final 15-20m when I think it goes from something special to something conventional, and I think FvJ met my expectations and really delivered on the final battle when the movie could have been f-d up in any of a million ways:

May

I liked Thirteen, but this is easy

Is the one more slot you mentioned yesterday still open? I missed the entire nomination/seconding thing and would love to see "The Barbarian Invasions" in there. :D

May - I expected FvJ to be much worse than it actually was.

and

Abstain - Another bracket where I really want to see both films.

Freddy vs. Jason (my first experience with either Elmstreet or Friday the 13th series and I enjoyed it a lot)

abstain in the other bracket.

The Cooler took the last spot.

My votes

Abstain on both - I've only seen May

May over Freddy Vs. Jason 5-3

Lilja 4-Ever over Thirteen 4-0

The Matrix Reloaded
Love Actually (I loved both, but since I normally strongly dislike romcoms, I'll have to give the nod to "Love Actually" for overcoming that.)
