Any chance of a Stereo track on "Nevada Smith"

The Soundtrack LP was in Stereo, so the recording must exist.

It contains one of Alfred Newman's best scores.

Great news about Nevada Smith & Gunfight at the OK Corral!
I'm crossing my fingers that Once Upon a Time in the West is in that batch too.

Doug, for Nevada Smith we only have Mono tracks in the vaults, so I'm not sure what else to say about the stereo tracks.......

Is there any chance that ENCHANTED APRIL (1992), or Richard Pryor's SOME KIND OF HERO will be among next year's releases?

Mr. Blythe: Any chance Robinson Crusoe on Mars might see light of day on DVD? When last mentioned, you said the title hadn't been considered yet. Is there any hope for this charming little film? Thanks. JB

    Martin,
Thankyou for your response in regards to Nevada Smith's sound.

I realise that it was made at a time when Panavision took over from Cinemascope and at that time Magnetic 4 track Stereo Sound which had been available on almost every Cinemascope picture went out of Fashion, not to return again until optical Dolby came on the scene many years later.

With the exception of some Roadshow releases that may have had optical Perspecta Stereo sound?, I'm not too sure that Stereo sound ever existed on any of Paramount's standard release Vista Vision titles.
    Paramount never really adopted Cinemascope.
So Stereo, I guess was never really an issue at Paramount.

A lot of the supposed Soundtrack LPs that were released at the time were often recorded for the LP itself, so it's quite possible that Nevada Smith's Stereo score recording was done just for the LP.

Martin, I'm very pleased and grateful that you took the time to check the vaults in regards to this issue.

It was just a dream wish on my part that the Stereo tracks may have existed.
I will accept Alfred Newman's wonderful Score any way it comes.

One more of Gunfight at the OK Corral and Nevada Smith, each, sold! To older gentleman back there, with moderator-hat and foreign accent!

Regarding Robinson Crusoe on Mars, I actually watched it the other day and while it's a lot of fun, I would have to say that it hasn't moved any higher on the release schedule, i.e. right now it's not on it.

    BAD NEWS FOR PARAMOUNT
I'm reading my first review of NEMESIS and it's not at all encouraging. Of course, being ST, it will still make the studio some money, just not what it could have made if it were a great Trek movie. Still hoping the critics are wrong, when I go and see it. Which will probably be next weekend. Very busy this weekend and I'm making time to finally see HP&tCoS.
    Next weekend ST:Nemesis
    Weekend after LOTR:TTT

Well, John, this is kind of about catalog Paramount titles being released on DVD. So Nemesis is not germaine here.

I understand and respect the economic considerations, Mr. Blythe, but I hope Crusoe might be considered some time in the (I hope) near future. Consider HTF as a source for a few hundred pre-orders at least!
