Just got season 2. I cracked up when both Reiner and Van Dyke were suddenly surprised on the commentary track for "My Husband Is Not A Drunk" by the Joy commercial since Dick had never remembered doing one with Mary for that.

Cool. :)

I haven't gotten around to any of the commentary tracks as yet. Just one more thing to look forward to regarding these DVD-on-DVD products. :D

I picked up the first season so far and am very impressed. Excellent presentations, good extras and digi pack packaging. Highly recommended. I'm glad the entire series is coming on such a fast schedule.

I think Mr. Phillips is mixing up his "packaging terminology". These sets are not being released in Digi-paks. (At least I doubt there's different packaging for the Las Vegas area.)

Well, I just got an email from Image with different release dates, the months are the same, but the days are different. I'll paste the email here.

Dear Casey,

Thank you for your thank you! We hope that you will be happy to hear that Image Entertainment has already scheduled street dates for the remaining three
seasons of the Dick Van Dyke show. The street dates are as follows: Season 3 is set to be released on 2/24/04, Season 4 is to be released on 4/27/04 and
Season 5 is set to be released on 6/29/04.

Once again thank you for your praise and please feel free to email us with any additional questions you may have.

Dear Image entertainment: I recently purchased seasons 1 and 2 of the Dick Van Dyke show. I would like to commend you on the fine job you have done with
this show. I own a lot of Television box sets and these sets are by far the best I've ever purchased. Its not just the big things like video, audio and
extras that I'm impressed with though all of that is impressive. Even minor things like a play all feature, really show that quality has been put in to
this set. I am also a big fan of the packaging for this set. I love the thin pack cases inside a bigger box. After seeing the care that has been put
in to these sets, I will not hesitate in buying the final 3 seasons of the Dick Van Dyke show, and other image releases. Thanks for the good work, and
keep it up Sincerely:Casey Trowbridge

Thanks, Casey, for the update.

It appears they've pushed each of the remaining seasons back exactly two weeks since the mail I got from Image on October 30.

I noticed that Image just volunteered the release schedule without you (Casey) even specifically asking for the dates. (Just like with my earlier mail to/from them.)

David VP, I did in fact notice that in fact I noticed it was true in your case even before I sent my email which is 1 reason I decided not to ask about it in mine to see if they'd just volunteer the info. About how long did it take for you to get a reply, mine was sent the night you posted that info and I just got 1 on Wednesday Nov. 12.
I really don't know for sure that they just pushed everything back 2 weeks, I mean it is still possible that you got correct information and I didn't for some reason, I guess we'll find out when they make a formal announcement. Either way, I meant everything I said in that email, big props to image for this one. There is a studeo I'd gladly give more money to.

Wrote them to sing their praises on Oct. 29.
Got a mail back the very next day, Oct. 30 @ 11:00 AM.

Now ... all we need to do is to get all 41,496 registered HTF members (to date) to write e-mails to Image ([email protected]), asking them to please acquire the complete video distribution rights to The Andy Griffith Show. 41,000 mails at once would be hard to push aside. :)

DanFe, switching from "All Stores" to Movies and typing in "Dick Van Dyke", I see the VHS packages for S1 & S2 at $36.49 each, and the DVD sets for $51.99 (there's an extra S2 DVD entry for $49.99 as well that includes a pic of the outer slipcover of the box set, with a hole where the image should be...is this then a factory castoff?).

I think you maybe saw the VHS sets and got confused? Anyway, DVDEmpire has the DVD season sets for $47.99 each.

As far as the slightly changed dates go for S3,4,5...I think I'll wait until we get closer to the release timeframe before updating the TVShowsOnDVD viewers. Dates can still change a dozen times over before we actually get there, and there's no reason to confuse people too much! At least we know what the ballpark is.

I've seen a couple of other legit e-tailers that have shown the packaging in this manner (i.e.: without the lenticular image card in place on the front).

In case some people hadn't noticed ... The 3-D images on the S1 and S2 boxes are removable by the customer. (They'll slide in and out of the "TV" easily.)

"Are you crazy, Laura?! ... This is a MILK cake!" :)

Just noticed this on the Season 2 set .......

You can see the third different "Ottomon Opening" variation on the episode "All About Eavesdropping" (because this ep. was really aired in S.3). ..... Rob sidesteps the famous footstool, then stumbles slightly after going around the ottoman.

Hilarious episode too. ......

"I got it! -- 'On The Street Where You Live!' "

"Right!"

:)

--------------

Can somebody with Season 2 check a glitch for me re. the "Eavesdropping" episode? .... This episode will not allow me to use the "Forward Search" button while playing this episode (either with or without commentary). Anybody else encounter this glitch on their disc (S.2 -- Disc 5)?
