Got an e-mail from MGM today and was told that "Great Balls of Fire", the Jerry Lee Lewis biopic starring Dennis Quaid, will be released on DVD mid-2002.

Speaking of Winona "shopping"....one of my favorite sequences in Great Balls Of Fire is Miss Ryder as the teenage Myra Lewis going wild with Jerry's new found money in the Memphis department stores.

I've always been a fan of this movie, I love Jerry Lee's music and although NO ONE but Killer is Killer, that Quaid boy gave it a good shot and there are several wonderful bits of casting. The late Rufus Thomas even shows up at Haney's Big House.

The DVD will be in good company with the laser disc and the other 400+ Jerry Lee 78s, 45s, 33s and CDs in the house.

Well-a well-a hell-a whole lotta shakin' goin' on.

It's kind of amazing how much of Winona's film career is still unrepresented on DVD. But this is certainly going to help!! Now, where's The Crucible.....
